So Many Questions About God
I have this question in my head all of the time. Is God really real? I think that I do want God to be real. I want to believe that there is a higher being watching over me and has a direction over my life. But then when I really think about that I begin to wonder….. well…. then what is the point in all of the work and effort that I am putting in. If there is already a master plan then does it all even matter? Do I have a specific time left that only God knows about? Will working out this morning make a difference? Does worrying about how I am raising my daughter just a waste of time because God also has a plan for her setup already? I also question the devastation in the world, the hate in the world, the suffering, etc. How can anyone, especially God let that happen? So many questions……
And that is where I want to begin the dialogue. I am going to go on a journey to dive deeper into all of my questions. I intend on doing the reading, analyzing the research and having the discussions because to be honest….I don’t think anyone has it all figured out. I will be the first to admit that I am a very analytical, show it to me, black and white kind of person. I also did not grow up in a religious home. My exposure to God and religion involves a babysitter who took me to Vacation Bible School in the summer, an Aunt who took me to her Catholic church once in a while. A friend who’s family took me to their church on Sunday mornings if I had a sleepover. You get the point.
So if you have a thought, opinion or questions of your own….join me. I am going to start by reading the bible. I am going to use a bible study that guides you through reading it in chronological order. I am going to take my time and really try to understand the words and the message. I plan to post my thoughts, insight, questions, and possibly at times debate the information that I am reading. I would love if you followed me on this journey. I would love to hear from all different people and mindsets as I venture out on this amazing experience.
